Call for submissions | Future of scholarly journal publishing

If you are a postgraduate student in Publishing, Library or Information Science, or any field of research, we want to know what you think about the future of scholarly journal publishing.

In 2024, the South African Journal of Science is celebrating 120 years of publishing quality original research from Africa.

On this landmark occasion, we will be reflecting on the last 120 years and how our journal has changed in this time. But it is also a time to look ahead, to the scholarly publishing of the future and to the roles of South Africa and our journal in this future.

In 2000 words or less, tell us what the next 120 years hold for scholarly publishing.

Your contribution should be scholarly and referenced where applicable.

The best contribution will be considered for publication in the special anniversary issue of the Journal and its contributor(s) will receive a R1000 Takealot voucher.

 Joint contributions are welcome.

For submissions and enquiries: sajs@assaf.org.za

Submission deadline: 1 June 2024
